Frame Meeting Table

Frame

A new BMW plant needs furniture for the group that gathers before every shift starts. Whoever uses this table builds cars all day, so the design pulls details from the vehicle interior instead of dropping in furniture from outside.

The requirements came straight from production: standing height, robust enough for the shop floor, wipeable, and assembled within takt, in a hall where seconds count. The frame itself shows which mode the table is in: plain white in meetings, a shifting green gradient in standby, a pulsing red-orange only in an emergency, all controlled through a dial built into the frame.

The final design comes with full technical drawings: the basis for manufacturing that runs reliably and on schedule. The competition entry, which took first place, became a genuinely procurable product in the internal catalogue for production lines.
